Too Cute

This was a rare opportunity to take a picture of Ayla with her hair braided. She normally refuses to have anything done to her hair, this to my wife's despair, who loves to 'cuten' her up with all kids of 'thingies' in her hair. Ayla just hates it !

So when she had her hair like this, I had to run to get my camera, take the picture fast, because I knew that it wouldn't last long. Five minutes later the braids were gone.

Aussie

Just like last year we spent part of our christmas break in Australia. The main reason for going back so quickly was the fact that we were going to meet up with my parents in Perth. A great opportunity for the kids to spend some quality time with oma and opa.

We were in Perth for 3 nights before we rented 2 cars and drove south to Margaret River. We spent almost a week in a beautiful house in the middle of the forest near Margaret River. That was just awesome. The house was at a small lake and was literally in our back yard. Great for the kids to the kids play and swim. The only bad thing were the flies......they didn't seem to bother the kids, but they drove the adults crazy at times.

We all had a great time and loved the house , the lake, the beach ( no flies here thank god) , the weather, the food, the wine and good coffee.

Oma and opa are now travelling for another 2 weeks down under with some friends and will come visit us in Jakarta next week.

Bali

After celebrating Christmas Day at home in Jakarta we flew to Bali on Boxing Day.

We were in Bali for a week and spent half of our time in Ubud and the other half of the time at the beach in Nusa Dua.

We arrived amidst thunderstorms and torrential downpour, but after a couple of wet days the weather improved and we had nice sunny weather for the remainder of our time.

We had a great time relaxing, hanging out at the pool and the beach. We went to the Bali Elephant Park and took the kids to the famous Bali Kecak Dance.

On New Years Day we had to say goodbye to Bali to fly to Perth to meet up with......opa and oma!!

Zitzak

One of the presents that Santa brought us this year was a big bean bag for the kids to sit / lay on.

In Dutch we call this a 'ZITZAK'. The kids just love it.

Christmas Day

On Christmas Day the kids woke up early....of course....they checked out the tree.....found a bunch of presents and ran to our bedroom to share the great news with us.

So at 5:55 we started unpacking our christmas presents.......

My Birthday

Happy New Year everyone!

It's been a while since the last time I put a post on the blog. Time for an update!

My birthday came and went last month and was actually pretty good. Sue had organized a round of golf for me in the morning with some of my friends...no joke...... and in the afternoon they all came with their families to our house for a swim, a drink and a bite.

It was a fun day and I have to thank my lovely wife for organizing this for me!
