Halloween
Last week I took Noah and his friend to a Halloween party at the American Club. It was really cool! They had a fashion show with the kids showing off their costumes and afterwards there was trick and treating in the parking lot out of the back of parked cars. The kids loved it. Noah just got way too much candy.....Ayla didnt go because she had her own class halloween party. Next year I am sure we will go to the American Club with the whole family!

UN Day @ JIS
Reading in Ayla's class!

Ayla has been going to JIS this year.after spending 2 years at the Dutch school.
Initially she was pretty hesitant about coming to JIS, she kept saying....."NIS is my school, NOT JIS.", but you know how it goes...After a few days she was fine at her new school and now she just loves it.
A while ago I had the opportunity to come in and read to her class. Here are some photos....

Star Wars
Noah has been completely mad about Star Wars for a while now. He reads books about it, watches Star Wars DVDs (the cartoon version) almost every day and dresses up as his favorite Star Wars characters.
Wanna know what it looks like? See for yourself.
Of course he is always a fearless warrior...hence the angry look.
Ha, pretty funny!

The Wedding
During our stay in the States, Sue's sister Maria got married .
We drove on a Friday from New Hampshire to New Jersey, a 6 hour drive, where the wedding was held. On Saturday we had a 'rehearsal'at Adam's parents house and the actual wedding was on Sunday.
Noah and Ayla were in the wedding party. Noah was the ring bearer and Ayla was the flower girl.
It was a beautiful jewish ceremony and the party afterwards was nothing less than spectacular. We all had a great time!

White Mountains
Last week we went away for a few days on a trip north to the White Mountains. It was a very nice trip and the scenery was absolutely stunning. We stayed at a cozy Bed & Breakfast for a couple of nights and enjoyed the beautiful nature.
We also met up with our old friends from Jakarta Tony and Jenny Simone. Tony was my principal at JIS from 2003-2006 and I always got along with him really well. It was really nice to see them again. They are currently in Moscow for one last year, before they will retire and move back to New Hampshire.
