Thank God for TV

Often our kids have play dates at our house or at friends places. These get-togethers are often a lot of fun...for the kids.....and for most / some of the adults......

Usually the first hour or so we have to entertain the bunch in the pool or playing chasing games, hide and seek , building towers , we pretend to be monsters, etc.....

Then usually one of the brighter parents remembers the magic of TV.
We put on a show and suddenly peace and quiet returns to the house.

This is the time that the moms and dads can finally exchange a few words together ( and actually hear eachother....) and enjoy a nice cold drink.

Thank God for TV!

Superman

Last week Noah and I walked around one of the local malls here and Noah spotted a store with all kinds of costumes. Since these costumes cost next to nothing here, I thought....why not?

The costume is a big hit. Ever since we bought it, Noah thinks he has become Superman. He wears it all the time!

He even sleeps with it..........really!

Swimming like Noah

Just wanted to share with you a few funny photos about Noah's swimming style.

He has never really learned any real swim strokes yet, but has developed his own funny and very effective way to keep his head above the water.

His whole body is actually under the water, except for his face. This seems to be a hard thing to do, but it is actually pretty effortless and he can stay in the deep end for a long time without any problems.

Goodbye to Ida

Today is the last day that Ida will be working for us. Ida has been our cook / maid for the past four years. She is pregnant and will go back to the kampung to have the baby and to be a full-time mother.

Last night we said goodbye to her , which was pretty emotional for her and especially for Noah. She has been part of his life since he was born and to him she is part of the family. He understands ( kind of....) that she has to go to have the baby, but doesnt know why she isnt coming back.

We are not so unhappy about the fact that she is leaving , beause we have been wanting to downsize our staff for a while and this was an easy way to do so.

Ida's work will now be done by Sofia and Aminah. Since both Noah and Ayla are going to school. they should have plenty of time to do the extra work.....we hope.
